A documentary on the history of garlic. Blank interviews chefs, garlic lovers, and historians about the their love of the 'stinking rose.'
　　Often referred to as a stinking rose, garlic, in its culinary uses, generally evokes a love it or hate it response. Quite often, these responses are on cultural lines, where old world cultures have generally revered it in their cooking, while new world cultures have not. A renaissance of sorts is taking place in the use of garlic in the United States, with more and more immigrants bringing their use of the spice to the country, with more people desiring more spice in their food, with a desire to get back to the land and with the production of plant a large part of the Central California landscape. Many chefs are presented preparing dishes prominently featuring the spice. On the bad side, the association of garlic to bad breath is discussed. On the other side, its purported health benefits are also discussed. Other topics presented include its association to vampirism, and speculation of how people will want their garlic to be presented to them in the future.

　　What could the fate of the Villa Empain, Baron Empain’s crazy project in Brussels, which has gone through a long and eventful journey since its completion in 1934, possibly inspire? Katharina Kastner’s challenge was to draw the portrait of the place, keeping in mind the work of time, like in a human existence. Shot in 16mm, her film appeals to the senses, it captures the stirring of leaves undulating in the garden light, the movement of iridescent pearls, or the colourful games of
a piece by Daniel Buren. Without a word, but with a caressing camera, she pays close attention to the hidden patterns on the gorgeous marbles, or to the veins in the most precious types of wood used to decorate the rooms. In slight touches, regardless of the monumental aspect of the 27.000 square-feet villa and the pool that so impressed its first visitors, Katharina Kastner o ers an organic vision of the place, which has been marked by the trials and tribulations of life, and used successively as a museum, an embassy and a squat, until its final renovation. The clever editing makes furtive connections, underlines colour associations, mixes up times and tactile sensations, while the spaces we explore keep rustling. The film takes us on a reminiscing journey, with slices of Empain’s life, from the family archive here on a holiday, there playing on the beach, images from a distant past that keep haunting the premises. The film reveals to us this living space that was designed like a piece of art, but it does so in a wandering way. This dream vision guides us through the villa like an echo of foregone fantasies, a mental space, but also a welcoming backdrop for the work of time. A bit like the fingerprint work we see in the film, or the slight touch of a pencil on a blank sheet.

　　黑尾鸥是亚洲东海岸独有的一种海鸟。
　　每年春夏，它们抉择,挑选,取舍,取择亚洲东北部海域的孤岛繁育下一代。
　　繁育期间，黑尾鸥有着和人类一夫一妻制相似的家庭结构。每对黑尾鸥一般产3枚卵，但小黑尾鸥的成活率只有30％左右。
　　秋天到来，所有的黑尾鸥都会离去,分离,离别,离别,分别,分离,别离,分散,远离,分离春夏繁育生息的孤岛。它们分成无数小的群落，有的会飞到南方去，有的就在北部沿海地带流浪。直到第二年春天，重回孤岛。

　　《向古巴人致意》（Salut les Cabuins，1963） 可能是瓦尔达最早在政治上直接表态的一部影片。由于她接受“古巴电影学院”之邀前往访问，带去一台莱卡相机，却带归来,返回,回归,还来两千多张照片。她深深为这个拉丁民族唯一的社会主义国家的娱悦所着迷。以那些照片为媒材，串接在巴黎所拍的舞蹈片断，静止的照片在洽洽的节奏里活跃了起来。这是名附其实一部她向古巴人致敬的影片。

　　Excellent cinematography is displayed in the film-Cohen utilizes various types of film, from super 8 to 16mm. Fugazi, being the greatest medley of musicians to emerge from the DC area, is depicted on screen in an 115 minute documentary. The video includes really neat live footage, as well as some bonus material.

　　Herzog takes a film crew to the island of Guadeloupe when he hears that the volcano on the island is going to erupt. Everyone has left, except for one old man who refuses to leave. Herzog catches the eeriness of an abandoned city, with stop lights cycling over an empty intersection.

　　本片2001年5月起始,开端,肇始,启始筹拍，经过3、4个月观察和准备于当年9月正式拍摄，历时14个月前期拍摄职业,事业,工作岗位,职责终结,告终,完结,终止，于2004年3月正式完成后期制作，影片荣获第十届上海国际电视节最佳人文纪录片创意奖、2004年广州国际纪录片大会纪录片大奖。

　　昨天我看了一个电影，是个法语片<最后的猎人，le dernier trappeur>，片子很很美，同时又有一点淡淡的忧伤，人们该好好思索,沉思,思量,思虑人与自然的关系了。Trappeur中文翻译成猎人，但所指的是专门利用陷阱和夹子狩猎的猎人。片中男主人公Norman和他的印第安妻子Nebaska日常,生存,生计,日子在远离城镇的大山中，延续传统尊重自然，与大自然和谐的相待,交往,来往,共处。而如今文明的发展，让那种自然和谐的日常,生存,生计,日子越发无处藏身。Norman不得不开辟新的居住地才能捕猎到皮毛动物，他有妻子Nebaska和忠实的雪撬犬相伴。片中虽然没有很多镜头展现,呈现,显现,体现两个人在一起的日常,生存,生计,日子，但几个细节让我们可以体验,体会,感悟,感悟到，他们是很彼此关怀爱护的。Nebaska为劳累的Norman按摩脊背，援助,协助,辅助,助力他建好新的木屋，女人的灵感让Norman那天一定带上猎犬Abas, Norman起始,开端,肇始,启始并不喜欢Abas,但结果正是Abas把他从冰水中救出。女人们是很少愿意嫁给一个猎人的，现代的妇女更愿意稳定的日常,生存,生计,日子，住在城镇中。没人愿意把日常,生存,生计,日子系在毫无保障的夹子上的。但Nebaska还是和Norman相依为命的日常,生存,生计,日子在一起。那种纯朴的心灵最美。

　　德国导演沃纳•赫尔措格（Werner Herzog）即使不是唯一，但也可以列入世界上最富冒险精神导演行列了。他的影片往往充满了刺激和挑战，或在热带雨林和另一个疯子克劳斯•金斯基打造陆上行舟的奇景，或与各种危险动物近距离接触，为此付出生命也在所不惜。
　　2004年的《白钻石》中，赫尔措格引领观众简要回顾飞机和氢气球的发展史。接着便带出本片另一个主角——研究氢气球的格雷姆•多灵顿博士（Graham Dorrington 饰），一个14岁时被火箭炸掉两根手指、同样富裕,富足,殷实,丰裕冒险精神的男人。他们将乘坐多灵顿发明的氢气飞船圭亚那内陆的顶端丛林，以人类的柔弱之躯向自然发出挑战与膜拜……

　　春を告げるコイのもんどり漁、初夏のヨシズ作り、水辺で人知れず羽化するオニヤンマ、晩秋のヨシ刈り、やがてやってくる冬…。
　　この52分のドキュメンタリー作品は、滋賀県・琵琶湖北部を舞台に、人と自然が織り成す、命きらめく水の里の1年を、映像と音声に拘りハイビジョンカメラで2年近くをかけて撮影した珠玉の映像詩です。
　　NHKが継続的に取材を続けてきた「映像詩 里山 命めぐる水辺」は、水と緻密な関わりをもつ人と生き物の世界を、斬新かつ美しい映像で描いた作品として国際的にも高い評価を受けました。
　　2005年10月にイタリア賞最優秀受賞番組として放送しましたNHKスペシャル版と合わせ、動物学者で自然番組のプロデュサーとしても名高いデービッド・アッテンボロー氏がナレーションを担当しました国際版(英語版)も収録されています。
